Overview
The qualification in Business Management at Level 4 has been developed to conform to the requirements of the QCF, to meet the requirements of employers, the needs of learners and our centres. This qualification is not tied to any specific industry, but delivers the knowledge, understanding and skills that meet the needs of learners aspiring to roles in Business and Administrative Management in different sectors on a domestic and international platform
Entry Requirements
For entry onto the OTHM Level 4 Certificate in Business Management qualification, learner must possesses:

Relevant NQF/QCF Level 3 Award or at the level of GCE/GCSE or equivalent

Mature learners (over 21) with relevant work experience

English: If a learner is not from a majority English-speaking country must provide evidence of English language competency at minimum of CEFR (The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) level B1 from a recognised English test provider or IELTS level 4.0 in each components.

Learner must be 18 years or older at the beginning of the course
Qualification Structure
The OTHM Level 4 Certificate in Business Management (QCF) is a 120 credit qualification that includes 6 mandatory units. To achieve the qualification, learners must complete all 6 units giving 120 credits. To achieve this diploma, the learner must complete all 6 units equalling to 120 credits.

Communications in Organisations (20 Credits): The module aims to develop the learner’s awareness of organisational, personal, team and external communications. Communication practices, systems, styles and tools are explored and how they support individual and group’s commitment to organisations and their objectives.

Leadership and the Organisation (20 Credits): Through a study of leadership styles, current theory and models learners will be gain an appreciation of leadership skills and their importance at all levels in organisations and for specific purposes.

Financial Awareness (20 Credits): Learners will gain understanding of accounting conventions, appreciate measurement for efficiency, profitability and solvency, and the different demands made by different stakeholders. Learners will gain understanding of financial commentary.

Managing Change (20 Credits): The aim of this model is to introduce different models and practices of change management.
The model further aims to help Learners to develop an understanding of the issues and practices involved in the management of change and those activities that contribute to positive organisational change. Learners are encouraged to develop and use their problem solving skills. -
Business Operations (20 Credits): The module provides a basis for understanding how different organisations are structured and controlled, and the importance of business goals and objectives. The workings and operations of the organisation are examined and Learners are required to develop and deliver operational plans.

Developing Teams (20 Credits): The module focuses on building, developing and supporting teams to enable them to achieve their goals and objectives. Learners will identify the skills and potential of teams and individuals.
Opportunities for teams to develop, gaining new skills and experiences and ways to evaluate and improve their performance are important to the module too. -

Duration and Delivery
This Qualification is designed to be delivered over one academic year for full-time study but it is also flixible in it's delivery in order to accommodate part-time distance learning.
The qualification is delivered face-to-face, through lectures, tutorials, seminars and online by approved ventres only.
Assessment and Verification
All units within this qualification are internally assessed by the centre and verified by OTHM. The qualifications are criterion referenced, based on the achievement of all the specified learning outcomes.
To achieve a ‘pass’ for a unit, a learner must have successfully passed all the assessment criteria for that unit.
The Assessor should provide an audit trail showing how the judgement of the Learner’s overall achievement has been arrived at.
Progressions
Successful completion of the Level 4 Certificate in Business Management provides the opportunity for a wide range of other academic programmes including progression to OTHM Level 5 Diploma in Business Management. The Level 4 Certificate in Business Management has been developed with career progression and professional recognition in mind. OTHM has progression arrangement with a number of UK universities that acknowledges the ability of learners after studying Level 3-7 qualifications to be considered for advanced entry into corresponding degree year/top up and masters/top-up programmes.
